Spelling Helper: The Spelling program that talks Mac and Windows

The Spelling Helper application is designed for youth in order to help them prepare themselves for their next spelling test. The program uses the built in computer synthetic voice in order to read the words to the person getting the test.

Spelling words and sentences are user defined. That means you will have to enter the spelling word and type out a sentence that goes along with the word in order for the computer to read it.

Once you have a spelling database entered to your liking you can create a spelling test. You'll be able to...

-select from multiple categories

-randomize the list

-choose the number of spelling words you would like to have.

There are three modes of testing

1. Practice Test

The computer will go through the spelling test and it will allow the user to type in the word. As the user types the letters will appear green as they are typing if they are getting them right. Letters will turn red once a letter is not correct

2. Computer Test

This is just like the practice however there isn't any user feedback until all spelling words have been typed and the exam has finished. It will give you a score.

3. Paper Test

If the person taking the test doesn't like using the computer and typing this option will work for a paper version of the spelling test. You will go through the test just like the computer however you write the spelling words on the paper and after the exam is finished you can see the words that were given to you.
